The 11th European Society for Translation Studies (EST) Congress, themed The Changing Faces of Translation and Interpreting Studies, took place at the University of Leeds from 30 June to 3 July 2025.
As part of the event, Anna Matamala and Pilar Orero hosted a dedicated workshop on Industry-Academic Collaboration: Research Impact in Translation and Interpreting Studies, representing the ClearClimate consortium.
Held on the first day of the Congress, the workshop focused on showcasing successful examples of industry-academy collaboration developed by the TransMedia Catalonia Research Group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This included the MOSAIC project, alongside ClearClimate and AccessCat.
The workshop brought together thirty participants who engaged in a two-part session: first, an overview of current collaborative projects and their real-world impact, and second, a hands-on exercise where attendees devised practical ways to strengthen ties between academia and industry in their own research areas.
The EST Congress served as a vibrant meeting point for academics, practitioners, and industry stakeholders to discuss evolving perspectives in translation and interpreting, exchange ideas, and strengthen networks — all key aims for the MOSAIC project and its commitment to impactful research and innovation.
