Pilar Orero, (UAB) will present MOSAIC at WSIS+20

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) is an existing multistakeholder United Nations (UN) process on digital governance and cooperation with a vision of fostering people-centered, inclusive, and development-oriented information and knowledge societies. The WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025 will take place from 7 to 11 July 2025 at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland, co-hosted by the ITU and the Swiss Confederation, and co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD. The event is strengthened by the collaborative engagement of other United Nations entities with the mandate of implementing the WSIS Action Lines.

Organised by professor Anna Matamala at UAB the panel  Media and Education for All: Bridging Female Academic Leaders and Society towards Impactful Results will have as Master of Ceremony and Chair: Wendy T. Goico Campagna (Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Vice-Chair UN Global Initiatives “United for Smart and Sustainable Development Cities”). The session will explore some recent research projects related to media and education which contribute to the WSIS vision to build people-centric, inclusive and development-oriented information and knowledge societies. The session will feature contributions from members of the AccessCat network where Prof. Pilar Orero (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), reporting on the results of the MOSAIC project, which aims to enhance accessibility services with Artificial Intelligence, catering for the needs of diverse users.
